I wrote my first series in the 3rd grade entitled "The Mighty Adventures of the Utensil Squad." I've always been the writer kid. There's always a story floating around in my head. My joy in life is sharing stories.
Since 2024, I've taken on fewer clients to focus on writing novels. I completed my dark comedy and am now in the query process. While working on that, I've got several more stories in the works. I can't wait for you to read them.
"It was great. The characters were so good. So many antagonistic people who were really just hurt people hurting people. It's quite humanizing and real, too. The heart of the story is the way you portray generational trauma, drug dependency, teenage pregnancies, and the way people cope with them. The story is good because it doesn't moralize about these things. It shows a very clear picture of why and how these problems exist without judgment."
"I loved it. [The main character] is perfect, and her voice is so strong. I loved the relationship between the dad and daughter. I thought you held the tension really well."
I have a degree in English with a focus on creative writing. I won multiple awards during my undergrad career and was editor of our literary magazine. I was always writing, but focused on working with non-profits for a few years. In 2019, I went back to get my Master's in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change. And in 2020, I had my twin boys, started my own business, and picked up my pen again to start writing.
Now, I'm focused on bringing my lifelong dream of being a published author to life.
I'm originally from Cincinnati. I live in the Netherlands with my family. Though I'm usually writing, my other interests include reading, hiking, exploring new places, trying new beers, and meeting new friends and petting new cats.
My strengths in writing are in human stories that focus on strong characters and dialogue. I love delving into themes like religion, dysfunctional families, and generational trauma, and there's nothing better than a "What if..." story.
As a lesbian writer, I enjoy writing queer characters without the faff because all I wanted as a kid was to see myself in the stories I was reading.
I read across all genres, but my favorite stories are the ones with characters I feel like I've met along the way. I am darn near a door-to-door preacher for any of Bryn Greenwood's novels, the works of Kevin Wilson, and, of course, Matt Dinniman's Dungeon Crawler Carl.
And this is a picture of Biddy. He is the best boy.
